Rebel Moon 2 Review

Rebel Moon Part Two: A Bigger Battle, But a Rote Story

Review: Rebel Moon Part Two - The Scargiver

By [Author's Name]

While I cannot review a version of Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver that I was not allowed to see, I can say that I doubt more or just more extreme violence and sex will save this sequel from falling into the same traps as its predecessor. Rebel Moon creator Zack Snyder had hailed Part One: A Child of Fire as an exciting new dawn for the blockbuster sci-fi arena. He boasted of a two-part story that would kick off an epic saga. But what we got instead was a bloated, boring mess that was more interested in style over substance.

Part Two is said to be even more of the same, with even more violence and sex. But that's not what Rebel Moon needs. What it needs is a good story, well-developed characters, and a sense of wonder. And from what I've heard, Part Two doesn't deliver on any of those fronts.

Seriously, if this film starts a trend of young people really getting into threshing wheat because the movie makes it look so slo-mo cool, I'm all for it. But I doubt that's going to happen. Rebel Moon is just too boring and forgettable to leave a lasting impression.

Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver is rated PG-13 for brief strong language, sequences of strong violence, and suicide.
